This cross stitch kit was created from a painting created by Alvan Fisher,  american painter that lived between 1792 and 1863, and is recognized as being one of the founders of landscape painting in the United States of America.



In April, 1825 Fisher made a tour of the most important European cultural centers, he was the first american landscape painter that made such a tour. He visited England, France, Italy and Switzerland, countries that at that moment in time wore the most important artistic centers in the world. In Paris he studied drawing a reproduced several classic painting exposed at Louvre.

Perhaps the biggest recognition of his value came a hundred years after his death, when the first lady of the United States, Jacqueline Kennedy choose to exhibit one of his paintings in the Green Room of the White House, the residence of all american presidents.

When is completed, A meeting by a River will have 38 centimeter width and 26 centimeters height. The kit contains 43 nuances of Coats-Puppets threads, and the cross stitch charts are A4 with legible black and white symbols.
